Though we had a number of great debuts in the 07/08 season, Dan went home with the coveted trophy of players player in just his first year. Wilkins made a great contribution in the lower order with some nice power hitting, though struggled with consistency. He did however shine in the field with some sharp fielding inside the circle. Wilkes made an impression with his dedication to the team and always willing to play his part. Very rarely did he skip a training session. Whilst sharp where cricket was concerned , he may be lucky there is no award for dumbarse of the year when he missed 1/3rd of a very crucial round robin game against eventual final opponents, Indian All Bad Sports. Wilkins decided to make his way to the ground via bus. He missed the first bus but eventually made the second bus to Glover Park, St Heliers only to find out his team was no-where to be found. Wilkins had completely screwed up where we were playing and finally managed to track us down. This may have been slightly acceptable had we been playing away. We were however playing a home game at Cornwall Park.
